Eric Schleich, LCSW, CT
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified in Thanatology: Death, Dying, Loss, and Bereavement with a counseling practice located in St Petersburg , Florida. After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, and a Master of Social Work from University of South Florida, I have dedicated myself professionally in helping children, adolescents, and adults cope with life’s changes related to grief, health challenges, addiction, and adjustment to unexpected life challenges. I practice from a person centered perspective, focusing on a person’s strengths. With the right support, I believe we possess the capacity within ourselves to adjust to what we are dealt along life’s journey.
As Certified Grief Recovery Specialist, I can assist you in completing relationships lost by death, death of a pet, divorce, and breakups. This method is also very helpful when experiencing grief from a job loss, move, or unmet expectations. For more information, please visit https://www.griefrecoverymethod.com/evidence-based
I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to treat depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders and addiction. CBT has been shown to reduce negative symptoms of these conditions and offer symptom relief faster than traditional “talk therapy”. In working with you, I can provide a comfortable setting to begin your journey to improved well-being. For trauma, grief, and anxiety I utilize Accelerated Resolution Therapy, or ART. ART is an evidence based therapy using eye movements to reprogram how the brain stores traumatic memories and images. The client remains in control of the session, and is NOT required to talk about their trauma during the session. Upsetting images are reconsolidated while the client follows sets of horizontal eye movements directed by the therapist. Relief can be achieved in 1-5 sessions, with the average being 3.
